WA470-8 Komatsu Wheel Loader

Komatsu America Corp. introduced a new wheel loader to the market – the WA470-8, with Tier 4 final engine. Powered by 272 hp Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 engine, the company claims that it consumes up to 6% less fuel than its older Tier 4 models.

The WA470-8 is a versatile machine which features SmartLoader Logic. It has a lockup torque converter that turns on in second, third and fourth gears, providing maximum torque to overcome difficult terrains.

Rob McMahon, Komatsu America’s Product Manager, said, “The WA470-8 has an outstanding combination of stability, break out power and tractive effort.” He also said that with specific attachments for applications such as logging and waste handling, this wheel loader is the most versatile machine.

Features that make the WA470 standout

Komatsu has designed the machine’s engine to perform with higher efficiency for a longer service life. The Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) along with Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) reduces nitrogen oxide emissions considerably. An advanced electronic control system is used for the engine to manage vital functions, providing an enhanced monitoring capability.

The operator cab of WA470-8 wheel loader features many updates. It has a high-back, air-suspension seat that reduces vibration and offers more comfort for the operator. The cast frame structures give the cab strength and stability. Equipped with KOMTRAX telematics, it provides better monitoring of the key parameters that affect the functioning of the machine. It also has auto-shutdown feature to reduce wear and save fuel when your machine is idle.
